A picture that I forgot I had on my comp many many blue moons ago. The paint scheme and mod… this was the first MG Freedom mod that I dropped my jaws for. And I still think it’s one of the best. It is simply beautifully… sinister.

Thanks a lot guys. To celebrate, have a 00 opening.

HG 1/100 Gundam Deathscythe Hell Kai

Just after reading the announcements of the MG Deathscythe, I took out my old HG 1/100 Deathscythe Hell Custom to take a quick look and envisioned how awesome an MG version of it must be. Fact: This was the very first Gundam that I actually fell in love with after seeing its HG 1/144 Boxart.

Love it or hate it, the Deathscythe Hell Custom has one of the coolest motifs, color scheme, weapon, AND design style (You gotta dig those wings). This would be Batman’s Gundam of choice (after he removes the vulcans)! Strike Noir doesn’t really work because it has guns and Batman hates guns… >_>
So… for me to get a vague and general idea of the MG Deathscythe, I just removed its wings…

Yea… I think it just lost all of its menacing aura. The new MG Deathscythe will based on Katoki’s design so imagine this: Everything is pretty much the same except replace the upper body with the regular (Okawara’s) Deathscythe’s and change the color scheme a bit. There you go.

… Right?

Gotta have its wings back… xD. Anyway, my model looks pathetic. If you are still not convinced about this being Batman’s Gundam, then check this one out from ebasenet. It’ll rinse out the bad images here from your eyes too =)

Piercing the Heavens Ver. Ka Style!

Oh hey! A mecha review for once! No way! But yea… it’s the Composite Ver. Ka Gurren Lagann. The Lancelot Ver. Ka left me with a really bitter aftertaste so I was really afraid that this one might also be a comPOSite figure as well (this was already being shipped to me when I was reviewing the Lancelot)… but turns out, it’s actually decent. I still don’t think any better of this line-up though…

HG 00 Movie Gundams

Hmm… considered my interest piqued. My overall reactions for the new Gundam 00 Gundams (Gundam 00 Gundams…) have range from “meh”, “bleh”, to “blah…”. However, this is my first time taking a good hard look at Harute and my… I like it! Though I must say that it really doesn’t look like a Gundam…

Oh Zanbanya will be VERY stable at standing thanks to those “fence” supporting it. Hmm… I can see some somewhat creative posing using them as a little display stand too if the joints are strong enough. Of course, there’s also a chance that it can’t do anything if the fences are restricting movement.

Hmm… I said this in an old post before, and I’ll say it again here- Physics dictates that Raphael will topple over trying to pose on the ground. You can tell in the photo that it has to stand that way to support the weight of that giant block of plastic.
All three are coming out soon and I think the only one I care about so far is Harute. However, I’m gonna wait and watch the movie first and see if they will get any GNHWWEWTF add-ons in the movie so I know whether to wait for that or not ;)

Ugly Bootleg Gundams

Gundam Epyon SEED… enough said. That is seriously hideous! Got both images off of Gundamaniac‘s old blogspot page (it still has most of his works in it so do check it out). I think he is probably one of the first Gunpla bloggers who started way back before everyone and their mom finally has a blog. Sadly, his own site is now down and I haven’t heard from him since (though I think I still see him on DC from time to time).

SD Gundam Unicorn Banshee

We all know who Keita is so I’ll skip the usual compliments.  I only check his site once a month and I usually find 1-2 projects completed on average. The guy just never fails to impress…

Obviously much custom work has been put into this model. I always wonder just what goes on in his mind when he comes up with a project and how to go about modding it. “Hmm… let’s see… today I think I’ll create a SD Banshee since Bandai doesn’t have one” *goes to work*. I can only imagine an artisan of his caliber couldn’t care less about what models Bandai will release as he can seemingly make his own.

Ball… Amuro Ray Custom. enuff said? It would’ve kicked more ass if it also comes with Fin Funnels though!
You can check out Keita’s page here.

Gundam panoramic simulator

Banpreto and Bandai has jointly produced Senjo No Kizuna, a simulator that features mecha from the Gundam universe. The player controls the mecha via dual joysticks and foot pedals, just as the pilots do in the anime and manga. The simulator display is a mock-up of the panoramic cockpit that many mecha use.
The player’s scores can be stored in a card. You can build upon your scores by using the card when you play the game some other time. You can upgrade your mecha as your score improves.
The simulator is connected to a network that allows you to fight with players all over Japan, instead of just in the arcade where you play from.
